Marvel Pauses “Thunderbolts” Filming – Dark Horizons

Following their pushing pause on further pre-production work on the “Blade” movie the other week due to the writer’s strike, Marvel Studios is now doing the same for their “Thunderbolts” film.

Filming was set to begin in three weeks in Atlanta, and according to Deadline, the crew was notified today with the plan being to resume production once the strike has ended.

Both “Thunderbolts” and “Blade” were both on track to start filming in June ahead of releases in July 2024 and September 2024 respectively. Should the strike continue on for months as expected, it seems inevitable both films will be delayed – at this time they’re retaining their release dates.

The studio was also forced to recently halt production on its TV series “Wonder Man” which had been shooting in Los Angeles. They reportedly won’t resume production on that until the strike is over.

That leaves four projects still active. On the film front “Captain America: New World Order” has a few weeks left to go and is expected to complete it.

“Deadpool 3” began shooting this week in the U.K. though speculation is rife regarding the potential limits of what can be shot.

On the TV front, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” began shooting in January and would appear to be mostly done.

“Daredevil: Born Again” is barely into its lengthy shoot, which is supposed to go for much of this year, and has already seen location shoots impacted by picketers. It is still shooting though, with social media postings of filming notice signs spotted in Manhattan advising of filming taking place next week.
