Major coming with a great real-life story of Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Sandeep Unnikrishnan is an army officer who fought against the terrorist in the attack of 2008. Full of drama and actions, the film shows us the life of a Major. The movie got very decent reviews from the public. But the question is can this perform well at the box office.

Vamsi Patchipulusu’s cinematography is splendid as its neat and uncomplicated. Avinash Kolla’s production design is rich. Sunil Rodrigues’ action is one of the USPs of the film. The violence is kept in check and is not gory at all. Rekha Boggarapu’s costumes are realistic while the ones worn by Saiee M Manjrekar are glamorous. Annapurna Studios’s VFX is first-rate. Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and Kodati Pavan Kalyan’s editing is sharp.

The media gave a blow-by-blow account of the rescue operations and the Pakistani handlers watching TV were able to communicate the moment of the commandos through that. Editorial discretion was sorely lacking at that juncture and that point too is raised by the film. A media blackout surely would have saved more lives but that was a command decision that should have been taken by those in power. It was a bitter lesson learnt.

One of the better things about Major is its action choreography. And this is where Sashi Kiran Tikka’s movie scores the highest. There’s even a hand-to-hand combat scene, which has been aesthetically designed, thrown in for good measure. How can a Telugu action drama not have a scene where the hero defeats his opponent with his bare hands? This is as much a requirement to test his abilities as the one in Mahanati (2018) where Savitri (Keerthy Suresh) sheds two teardrops from the cup of her left eye.
