Love And Thunder Breakup Flashbacks Teased By Hemsworth And Portman

Thor: Love and Thunder breakup flashbacks teased by Hemsworth and Portman in the recent issue of Disney’s D23 Magazine (via The Direct). So far all we know is that at some point in the past, Thor and Jane broke up. Thor for whatever reason seems to still kinda hold a torch, or has some sadness connected to this. Additionally, we have not seen Jane since this in the MCU other than a flashback to her time in The Dark World during the Endgame time heist sequence.

However, according to star Hemsworth, that’s all about to change in Love and Thunder.

“There actually wasn’t a whole lot of evidence to definitively say, ‘This is how they broke up. This is what happened. It was left open for interpretation, which was great because it allowed us to go on this fun journey; ‘What did their relationship look like when they were together? What did it look like when they were breaking up? Why did they break up?’ It’s some of the funniest stuff in the film.”

The new Mighty Thor herself also teased these flashbacks.

“It was really fun to get to imagine the parts of their relationship we hadn’t seen,” Portman added. “And the hard parts of a scientist dating an otherworldly Super Hero.”

Portman also went on to talk about how much fun it was to work with director Taika Waititi on this movie for the first time.

“Taika brings such a sense of fun, mischief, and spontaneity to the set. It was a really joyful environment and we embraced the silly.”

Those who read my Marvel coverage already know Thor: Lobe and Thunder is my most anticipated movie this year. It does sound as though the cast had fun making the movie. Therefore, let’s hope that translates to a fun experience for us when it hit’s this July.
