It’s more frustrating because the raptors aren’t even used to evoke a sense of fear or emotions through them. They just keep coming in between when the makers get tired of showcasing Ellie & Alan’s cringe romance. Credit where it’s due, there’s a beautiful bike chasing sequence along with the dinos remaining to be the best scene & this is what I expected to be in abundance but alas!

While the jump scares and tension are not a patch on the 93 classic, a few scenes are jawdroppingly intense like the dinosaurs chasing Owen’s speeding bike and even performing parkour stunts. Jeff Goldblum’s trademark snappy wisecracks are once again the highlight of a rather predictable film.

One thing that sands out when watching JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION is the realization of how far filmmaking has come. From the jerky visuals and renders of JURASSIC PARK to the smooth and seamless visuals in DOMINION, the passage of time is clear. While the VFX and CGI team have done a marvellous job of recreating a species that has long been lost, there are times when one wished more could have been done. Assisting the visuals is the background score that sets the tempo for on screen happenings. Building the crescendo when needed, and rendering haunting tunes elsewhere the sound plays an integral part of the film.
