Night Boat to Tangier
Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson and Ruth Negga are all set to star in Oscar-winning director James Marsh’s $18 million-budgeted indie feature “Night Boat to Tangier” based on the novel of the same name by Kevin Barry.
The two men play Irish drug smugglers and partners with a long history of violence and intertwined personal lives. They revisit old haunts & flames in south Spain, trying not to cause trouble while searching for Maurice’s estranged daughter Dilly.
Tornado
“Slow Horses” star Jack Lowden will lead the John Maclean-directed survival thriller “Tornado” at HanWay Films. The story unfolds in 1790s Britain where a Japanese man (Takehiro Hira) and his daughter Tornado (Kōki) run a travelling puppet Samurai show.
They cross paths with a gang of ruthless criminals led by Sugarman and his ambitious son Little Sugar (Lowden). Tornado seizes the opportunity to take matters into her own hands and steal the gold from their most recent heist.

Dan Stevens and Alisha Weir will co-star with Melissa Barrera in “Scream” directing team Radio Silence’s untitled monster movie thriller at Universal Pictures. Plot details are under wraps. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett directs from a script by Stephen Shields with revisions by Guy Busick.
The One
Speaking of Melissa Barrera, she will co-star with Nicholas Hoult and and Lana Condor in Kevin Armento and Jaki Bradley’s “The One”. Barrera plays a woman making a last-ditch effort to find love by becoming a contestant on a reality dating show. Soon the artifice of the show fade, and the game becomes terrifyingly real.
Ursa Major
Scott Mescudi has closed a deal to star opposite Jessica Biel and Xochitl Gomez in the sci-fi thriller “Ursa Major” to be helmed by Jonathan and Josh Baker (“Kin”).
On an earth-like planet, a mother (Biel) and teenage daughter (Gomez) fight for survival while hiding from a group of relentless hunters and an imminent and deadly storm. The daughter soon begins questioning her mother about who they really are.
The One
Elizabeth Banks and John C. Reilly will lead the A.I. thriller “Dreamquil” from Hanway Films. Alex Prager directs the film which will shoot in the third quarter of this year.
Set in the not-so-distant future, the cautionary tale shows what happens when Artificial Intelligence and automation are integrated into our daily lives.
That’s Amore
John Travolta and Katherine Heigl have joined, and Christopher Walken is in talks to star in the rom-com “That’s Amore” penned and directed by Nick Vallelonga. Filming begins in August.
Travolta plays a man who has never been married, never heard the words ‘I Love You’ and his best dating years are well behind him. Heigl plays an introvert with various tics and nervous habits who has withdrawn from the dating game. When these two emotionally damaged people attempt to date one another, their families get involved.
Eternal Return
Kit Harrington, Naomi Scott and Jeremy Irons will star in the epic romance “Eternal Return” for Roadshow Pictures. Yaniv Raz pens and directs.
The story follows Cass (Scott), a young woman and emotionally uninvolved woman who meets Virgil (Harington), a cartographer who makes maps to imaginary places. Along with his vibrant renaissance man partner Malcolm (Irons), they attempt to travel back in time to awaken Cass to love again.
