Capcom Reveals “Resident Evil 4” Remake

Announced as part of Sony’s State of Play event, Capcom has officially set a March 24th 2023 release date for its ground-up reimagining of the iconic 2005 game “Resident Evil 4”.

A trailer has been released showing off the PS5 version of the full-blown remake of what many consider the best entry in the series and one of the most influential games of all time. The remake is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC only.

The story follows Leon S. Kennedy as he infiltrates a Spanish village to find Ashley, the President’s daughter who had been kidnapped. He learns during his journey that the village has been taken over by a dangerous cult, its inhabitants being infected by something known as Las Plagas.

The remake follows on from the second and third “Resident Evil” titles which scored their own acclaimed remakes in 2019 and 2020. The “Resident Evil 2” remake in particular was considered one of that year’s best games and ended up outselling the original.

The PS5 version of the new “Resident Evil 4” will also be compatible with the PlayStation VR2 system. In addition, Sony has announced that “Resident Evil Village” is coming to PlayStation VR2 platform.
